Saskatchewan author Beverley Brenna has worked as an elementary teacher, a special education teacher, and a freelance storyteller, and she currently teaches at the University of Saskatchewan. She has nine published books for young people, with a tenth in press, including young adult novels, short stories, and poetry. Bev has three teenage sons whom she bribes to read some of her manuscripts and pick out the confusing things that need to be scratched out. Her husband reads some of her work, too, as well as a couple of good friends. When nobody wants to hear her stories, she reads them to her dog, Buddy. He is a very good listener and almost never goes to sleep while she is reading.

Recent awards for Bev’s work include the Dolly Gray Award for authentic portrayals of characters with developmental disabilities, and a Printz Honor for excellence in children’s literature.
