Yvette Nolan
Yvette Nolan (Algonquin) is a playwright, director, and dramaturg. Plays include BLADE, Annie Mae’s Movement, The Birds, The Unplugging, Gabriel Dumont’s Wild West Show (co-writer), The Young Ones, the libretto Shanawdithit, the short filmA Common Experience (w. Shane Belcourt) and many short plays, an affection that led her to found the Short Cuts Festival of 10 Minute Plays in Saskatoon in 2014. As a director, she has worked all over Turtle Island, most recently on the verbatim play Reasonable Doubt, about relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan, which she co-created with Joel Bernbaum and Lancelot Knight.
